Meet on global environment begins
Hyderabad : About 250 delegates from companies such as ITC Group of Hotels,Emami Ltd,HUL,NTPC,Wipro Ltd,NHPC Ltd,Ashok Leyland,Tata Motors,Skoda Auto India are attending a two-day global environment conference on ‘Sustainability: a business strategy’.
The conference began here on sunday under the auspices of New Delhi-based Green-tech Foundation.
Rakesh Shrivastava,Joint Secretary,Ministry of Shipping,inaugurated the conference and presented the 11th annual Greentech Environment Excellence Awards-2010.
Issues
The conference will address issues like oil-spill,green buildings,sustainability in work place,clean development mechanism.
The conference will also focus on issues pertaining to water and waste water treatment,conservation of natural resources,recycling and waste management,environment-occupational health and drinking water purification and treatment,according to a press release.
Award winners
The award-winners included ACC Ltd,Aditya Birla Chemicals,ITC,Godfrey Philips,Wipro,HAL,HLL Life-care Ltd,Emami,NTPC and NHPC, the release added.
